Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how pawz.space, operated by Alex Kohen ("we", "us", "our"), a France-based independent operator, collects, uses, and protects information when you use pawz.space (the "Service"). We serve customers worldwide, and we've written this policy with GDPR-level protections in mind regardless of where you're located.
1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information
- To generate and encode your transmission, produce your certificate, tracker page, and signal film;
- To send you transactional emails (order confirmation, transmission confirmation, gift notifications);
- To send a one-time confirmation if you subscribe for updates via the "Not ready yet?" form;
- To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of the Service (for example, rate-limiting repeated submissions from the same source);
- To respond to you if you contact us directly.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your information on the following bases: performance of a contract (fulfilling your order), your consent (for the optional updates subscription), and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service (fraud and abuse prevention).
4. The free "Open Signal" tier is public
If you use the free Open Signal tier, the photo and message you submit are displayed publicly in the Service's archive, alongside your pet's name, indefinitely. This is disclosed at the point of submission. Do not use this tier if you do not want your submission to be public. Paid tiers (Photo and Video) are not displayed publicly unless the underlying record is also surfaced in the public archive feature of the Service, which shows the same public-facing information as free-tier signals — name, photo/video, and message — for any transmitted signal, not private data such as your email address.
5. Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers ("sub-processors") to operate pawz.space. We do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of pawz.space, our users, or others.
6. International data transfers
Because we use globally-distributed infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, Stripe, Resend), your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on those providers' standard contractual clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms.
7. Data retention
We retain order information (including your uploaded photo or video) for as long as necessary to provide the Service — including keeping your certificate and tracker page accessible indefinitely, since the tribute is intended to be permanent. Free-tier submissions remain in the public archive indefinitely unless you request removal. You can request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 9), though note that removing a transmitted signal's public listing does not and cannot recall the physical transmission itself.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled storage, and rate-limiting to prevent abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; object to or restrict certain processing; and request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email alex@pawz.space. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any event within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Cookies
The Service uses only the minimal storage necessary for it to function (such as a session flag to avoid replaying an intro animation). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
